Who the hell are Sell! Sell!? (we do get that a lot) Sell! Sell! was set up in 2005, and is owned and run by Andy Palmer and Vic Polkinghorne, two ad guys who had spent years at some of the best ad agencies, but were frustrated that advertising seemed to have become an unnecessarily complicated and convoluted business, where agencies and individuals often seemed to have even forgotten the basic reason that clients come to them: to help them sell more product to more people more of the time, or for a higher price. They had seen that ad agencies tend to over-complicate problems, spout buzzwords, jargon and nonsense, in an attempt to mystify what is essentially a simple process (give smart people your problem and let them solve it). The idea of Sell! Sell! was to create a place where advertising is once again unashamedly about the simple but valuable art of persuasion and skill of salesmanship, about great thinking, craft and creative work that directly helps clients grow their business. A place that stripped away all the layers of ad agency nonsense that have built up over the years, in order to make the process more productive and more enjoyable for everyone involved (and, as it turns out, quicker in the process), where its all
about getting
on with it,
rather than
spending ages
crapping on
about how we might go about it. Where smart creative and strategic people were free from the production line methods and safety-first culture of the big agencies, Sell! Sell! was built around making it easier for people to come up with the best work of their careers, for a small number of like-minded clients. But, of course,
none of that
misty-eyed idealism matters a jot unless what you do actually works. We started out with a desk, a laptop, and a smile. Six months later wed helped Krispy Kreme successfully launch in the UK, and made a global campaign for PokerStars that helped make theirs the biggest ever poker freeroll competition. Since then weve been quietly beavering away, working with interesting clients of different sizes and types, from the family-owned independent drinks maker Fentimans, to the healthcare giant Nuffield Health. These days were based in Shoreditch, East London. Were still very small (our size puts some people off) and were not right for every client. But if youd like to find out if we might be able to help you, just give us a bell on 020 7033 3999.
